The Rees-Dart track is a 4-5 day tramp. It follows the Rees
and the Dart Rivers through the southern end of New Zealand's
Mount Aspiring National Park. Catch a ride to the start of
the track from Glenorchy only a short drive from Queenstown
New Zealand.
The first day starts with a trek through farm land, the next
few days are more exciting with mountain terrain and some interesting
rivers and streams. The final day is an easy walk over open
terrain. If walkings not your thing catch the Rees Dart jetboat
and save your feet.
The Routeburn track is 32-kilometre (20 mile), two to three
day hiking track which links Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National
Parks. The track is visually stunning with waterfalls, forests,
bird life, lakes and awesome mountain scenery.
To get to the starting point you will need to get to Glenorchy,
which is just down the road from Queenstown. The walk ends
in Milford and is open November to April.
